colour rediscovered III

Finally, after a surprising and unusual amount of hard work, 6 new paintings completed - by way of a nod to some of my favourite artists, particularly Patrick Heron and Bryan Wynter, and at a loss for anything else to do, I have decided to name them after the predominant colours I have used - yellows, Ochre and Naples, Cadmium Red and Red Deep, Paynes Grey, Mars Black and Raw Umber. Hope you find something of interest in them.

  1. Well done Simon...I prefer the first two more than the others...really like the colour harmonies and the compositions..probably just a personal taste thing..surely somebody else will say the opposite!

  2. Thanks for your comments and kind words Rod - funny old thing, personal taste. I seem to have lost any critical facility about my own work that I may once have had, to the point that it's hard to know what's good and what isn't. Guess all one can hope is that someone likes something! I think I just paint because I enjoy the process - anything beyond that is a bonus. Thanks for looking - Simon
